For all those interested in joining the HiPer group for some dry-land training in the off season this year, here is the complete schedule.
The Anglin Lake trails in Great Blue Heron Provincial Park are in good condition having been groomed and track set Jan 25th after a 6 inch snowfall. The south side of the Spruce River Highlands Trail (Prince Albert National Park) to highway 263 parking lot, was packed by snowmobile the same day (photo-7) and is suitable for back country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. The north half of SRHT has about 8-10 inches of unpacked snow for the more adventurous.
Here is PANP link to a map of the Anglin Lake trails and SRHT http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/sk/princealbert/activ/activ22/activ22g.aspx . The GBHPP Anglin Lake Trail map is attached above.
Regular updates of the Anglin Lake Trails are located at http://www.saskparks.net/Default.aspx?DN=4970,501,94,3,1,Documents for more updates with pictures, including the tower cabin shelter and viewpoint, https://www.facebook.com/landoftheloon/ .
As indicated on the Anglin Lake trail map the trail from Jacobsen Bay Trailhead Parking lot to the tower cabin is a shared trail that also connects to SRHT providing about 12km of snowshoeing opportunity.

Race Cancellation Notice
Please Note that the following Race is Cancelled:
Sask. Cup #5
Carlton Trail Ski Club Jan. 22, 2017
Poor snow conditions and warm temperatures with no chance of snow have forced the race committee to cancel this event. Skiers already registered will be contacted and refunds given.
We look forward to hosting a 2018 Sask. Cup Race .
Any questions can be forwarded to David Martinuk
We wish you good skiing the rest of 2017
MPORTANT NOTICE: SASK CUP 3 AND 4 REVISIONS
Plans for Sask Cup 3 and 4 have been slightly revised as the Blackstrap courses have enough snow cover to pack for skate skiing but not enough to set classic tracks.
There is currently enough snow cover to race at these two venues with more snow expected today. The weather forecast shows warming as of Friday and we do not anticipate needing to cancel due to cold but we will continue to monitor the forecast and provide an update if required.
Please remember that race registration must be done on Zone4 by 5 p.m. on January 13th. Race day registrations are not accepted.
